Lignosulfonates
Lignosulfonates are natural, glue-like materials from wood that work well for controlling road dust. They stick dust and soil particles together, and as they dry, they form a water-resistant layer that holds dust down. They’re used on roads, feed lots, orchards, nurseries, and in construction or mining areas. Lignosulfonates are a safe, eco-friendly, and affordable alternative to calcium flake, recommended at 0.3–0.5 gallons per square yard. They work on many soil types, are safe near water and plants, reduce dust to safe levels, and are made from all-natural materials.
